Professor Ivan Cheltsov, Personal Chair in Birational Geometry at the University of Edinburgh, has received a grant from the Simons Foundation as part of the Simons Collaboration on Moduli of Varieties.
The Collaboration is led by James McKernan at the University of California, San Diego with the other PIs at Imperial College, Utah, Princeton, Michigan, Columbia and Johns Hopkins universities and is focused on improving our understanding of the geometry of moduli spaces in a range of contexts. The aim of the collaboration is to determine appropriate invariants to construct the corresponding moduli spaces and to study their rich geometry.
