Research interests: Numerical analysis

Roy completed his MMath at Heriot-Watt University with a focus on numerical analysis both applied and theoretical. Having worked on applied linear algebra and differential geometry, he is interested in developing his pure analysis skills further. MIGSAA particularly appealed to Roy because of its links with industry. Roy is very keen to develop good relationships with MIGSAA partners as he sees himself pursuing a career in industry after completing his doctoral studies. In his spare time Roy enjoys following most sports but is predominantly a rugby fan supporting Bath and the Scottish national team. However he is also interested in current affairs, film, TV and music which makes him a formidable pub quiz contestant.

Roy received an MSc by Research after his first year in MIGSAA, having decided to pursue a career in industry.
