Matthew received an integrated master's in Mathematics at the University of St Andrews, where he kept a fairly wide range of interests across statistics, pure and applied analysis.  His master's project was on an introduction to the Navier-Stokes existence and smoothness problem.  As part of the industrial scheme he will be working on Bayesian inverse problems in imaging, supervised by Dr Marcelo Pereyra and Dr Kostas Zygalakis, but he looks forward to making use of the opportunities provided at MIGSAA to maintain a broad interest in analysis.
