Andrew completed his BSc Hons at the University of Strathclyde. During his time at Strathclyde he took a variety of classes in applied mathematics, covering areas such as Functional Analysis, Numerical Approximation and Mathematical Biology. His honours project looked at the applications of operator semigroup theory within the context of PDEs, specifically the heat equation. His main interests currently lie in the area of Mathematical Biology, in particular the modelling of biological systems and how these systems may react to the effects of climate change. This being said, he is also looking forward to being exposed to many different areas of mathematics at MIGSAA and as a result has a fairly open mind about future research topics. He plays a couple of sports and in his spare time enjoy films, music and cooking.
