Staff and students loved their visit to The Burn in Edzell for the first MIGSAA Residential Symposium, arriving on 2nd and leaving on 4th May 2016.
The sun shone on the gardens allowing croquet, tennis and bowls to be played. On the second day of the visit hikes and walks went off from the grounds along the stunning banks of the river Esk and up into nearby hills.
The relaxed atmosphere meant presentations on Extended Projects by first year students and PhD Progress Reports by 2nd year students were fun as well as entertaining and remarkable. They participated in a grouped Maths challenge along with staff, as well as an Academic Writing lecture. For relaxation in the evenings pianists among us took to the pianos for some stunning music; classical and jazz. Everyone agreed the ambience of that special place provided an exceptional learning environment. More pictures can be seen in the Gallery.
