Tim completed his MMath degree at the University of Nottingham, where he took a variety of courses ranging from Functional Analysis to Relativity and Quantum Field Theory. For his masters dissertation he considered some aspects of the theory of spin networks and their applications to the fuzzy sphere. Tim is looking forward to taking advantage of the broad range of courses available at MIGSAA, especially Numerical Analysis and the pure aspects of PDEs. Outside of maths, Tim can most commonly be found either playing the violin or tripping over himself in Scottish Country Dance classes. He claims to be able to work the self-service machines in supermarkets but has so far failed to demonstrate this to any external observers.
