Crash Courses

CANPDE Crash-courses

This series of mini-courses is organised by the Centre for Analysis and Nonlinear PDEs in collaboration with the Oxford Centre for Nonlinear PDE at Oxford University. Each mini-course consists of 4-6 one-hour instructional lectures, on topics in Analysis related to Nonlinear PDE. They are mainly aimed at PhD students and young researchers, however registration is open to anyone interested in the area.

Arrangements

Participation

If you wish to attend please register your interest by Friday 14 May 2010 by emailing L.Boulton@hw.ac.uk, giving the following information:

  • Your name and institution
  • Whether you are a PhD student or a young researcher
  • Whether you require accommodation arrangements
  • Whether you would like to request support (and if so, whether support is for travel, or accommodation, or both)
  • Whether you have any other special requirement

Funds are available to support UK participants. Priority will be given to research students and mathematicians who would benefit from attending the lectures, but who would otherwise be prevented from attending by financial constraints.

The number of participants will be limited so we encourage those who are interested to register as early as possible and in any case before 14 May 2010.

Venue

The crash-course will be held in Colin Maclaurin Building, Department of Mathematics, Heriot-Watt University. Location maps can be found here.

Travel

Information about travel to the UK and Edinburgh is available here. Follow this link for information about bus services in Edinburgh and this link for the Airlink Services to and from Edinburgh Airport.
